Define the Bushing You Need
A cylindrical sleeve, flanged bushing, thrust washer or mounting flange needs different drawing details. Include both the part geometry and the way it fits into your assembly. A photograph can help identify the form, but a dimensioned drawing is needed to review manufacturing requirements.
- Cylindrical sleeves: inside diameter, outside diameter, length and end chamfers.
- Flanged bushings: body dimensions plus flange diameter, flange thickness and whether the stated length includes the flange.
- Thrust washers: inside diameter, outside diameter, thickness and any locating or mounting features.
- Mounting flanges: flange profile, hole count, hole diameters, bolt circle or hole coordinates, and installation clearances.

Confirm the Alloy Before Comparing Quotes
“Bronze bushing” is a common purchasing term, but the exact copper alloy matters. Specify the grade shown on your drawing instead of relying on colour or a general product name. Graphite-plugged bushings can use different copper alloys; material properties from one product should not be applied to another.
If the grade is not yet specified, describe the application so the material requirements can be discussed. Confirm the final grade, fit and inspection requirements before placing the order.

Custom Bushing Questions
Can I send dimensions in inches?
Yes. Label all dimensions with their units and include the tolerances. Avoid mixing inch and metric values without identifying which dimensions govern manufacturing.
What should I send if I do not have a drawing?
Send the inside diameter, outside diameter, length, photographs and quantity. For a flanged part, also include flange diameter and thickness. Identify the material and operating conditions where known; missing details must be resolved before the specification is confirmed.
What are the minimum order quantity and lead time?
These are confirmed in the quotation after the size, material, quantity and production requirements have been reviewed. Tell us your target delivery date when you enquire.
