Steel-Housed Graphite Guide Bushings for Pallet-Stop Shafts

A retractable pallet stop can use a guided shaft that rises into the pallet path. This enquiry concerns the shaft guide, using BONIU cylindrical steel-housed copper-alloy sliding construction as a starting point. It does not offer a complete stopper, shock absorber or certified impact-arrest assembly.

Separate shaft guidance from the pallet stopping impact

Pallet contact can create a moment at the projecting stop shaft. The guide reactions depend on projection, bearing spacing and the separate impact-absorption path. Average conveyor speed is insufficient to describe a stopping event; the equipment design must define how the energy and peak force are controlled.

Start with the matching BONIU product construction. Send the assembly section as well as the individual bearing drawing so that the working contact, locating surfaces and installation access can be reviewed together.

Selection boundaries and installation

Fit the housing with suitable support and align the guides before inserting the shaft. Prevent chips and debris from being drawn into the guide as it retracts. Verify that the stop load is carried through the intended structure rather than an unsupported sleeve edge. Do not infer an impact capacity from the steel shell.

Material and replacement approval

For copper-alloy parts, state the exact standard and grade required by the design. JDB/500# and geometry codes do not establish chemical composition. Do not treat different national alloy designations as interchangeable without checking their specifications. Product colour and a reused image cannot confirm material. Required documentation, dimensions and manufacturing scope are reviewed with the quotation.

The application description is a design-review starting point. No stock availability, service-life guarantee, machine approval, universal load limit or test result is claimed. Contact pressure, motion, temperature, counterface condition and the assembled load path must be checked for the chosen specification.

Purchasing questions

Does the guide absorb the pallet energy?

No energy-absorption performance is claimed. Define cushioning and stopping hardware separately.

Can conveyor speed alone determine selection?

No. Mass, contact geometry, deceleration and resulting bearing reactions also matter.

Why provide the shaft projection?

It helps identify the overturning moment and the reactions at the guide positions.

Can the original product image be used to approve this application?

No. It illustrates the bearing structure. Use the approved part and assembly drawings to confirm dimensions, material, clearance and duty.
