H59 Brass Mounting-Flange Bushings for Packaging Format Shafts

H59 Brass Mounting-Flange Bushings for Packaging Format Shafts

Request an H59 brass mounting-flange bushing for an intermittently turned packaging format-adjustment shaft. This enquiry concerns radial guidance of a smooth shaft section behind a handwheel or adjustment mechanism. It does not cover the threaded adjustment nut, nor does the flange automatically carry the screw’s axial positioning load.

Locate the guide bore from the mounting face

A bolt-on flange can make replacement accessible when a shaft runs through a thin machine panel or a removable bracket. Specify how the bore is located: by a register diameter, a shoulder, dowels or the approved bolt arrangement. Hole clearance alone may allow the bushing to move during tightening. Include the panel thickness and access envelope so the flange, screw seats and tool clearance fit the actual machine.

H59 is an ordinary brass requirement supported by BONIU’s material directory. It must be assessed as H59, rather than upgraded by name to high-tensile brass. For this slow adjustment duty, send shaft reaction loads, turning frequency and lubrication access. The grade callout does not establish an allowable bearing pressure. H59 and H62 also have different composition requirements and should not be substituted because their colour is similar.

Keep screw thrust and guidance functions distinct

Identify the part that reacts the adjustment screw’s axial force and the feature that controls position when the handwheel is released. If the bushing flange is intended to carry sliding thrust, add its counterface, contact area and lubricant requirements to the drawing. Repeated powered rotation, substantial side loading or precision positioning under load requires a separate bearing and stiffness review. Include washdown chemicals where applicable.

Shaft arrangement Smooth journal length, shaft runout, handwheel offset and separate thrust/locking components.
Material and duty H59 standard/edition and stock condition; reactions, adjustment frequency, lubricant and cleaning exposure.
RFQ details Quantity, assembly drawing, drawing revision, installed clearance and inspection needs.

Installation and selection checks

Align the bushing with the other shaft supports before tightening its flange. Ensure the mounting face is flat and clean so bolt force does not tilt the bore. Check shaft movement over the complete adjustment range, including the extreme format settings. Verify the independent thrust restraint and lock, then apply the specified lubricant. Recheck bore alignment if the machine panel is repositioned.

Frequently asked questions

Can a loose bolt pattern centre the shaft accurately?

Do not assume so. If bore position matters, show the locating register or another defined locating feature and its relationship to the shaft centreline.

Is this a brass lead-screw nut?

No. The described bushing guides a smooth journal. A threaded nut needs thread form, pitch, backlash, axial load and a separate material assessment.

What is needed for an H59 replacement order?

Supply the exact grade and standard, new-part geometry, shaft and mounting dimensions, quantity and duty. A flange photograph alone does not define the fit or the material.
