CuZn25Al5Mn4Fe3 Flanged Bushings for Pallet-Changer Lift-and-Turn Shafts

CuZn25Al5Mn4Fe3 Flanged Bushings for Pallet-Changer Lift-and-Turn Shafts

Request a drawing-based MPGZ / OFP01-style graphite flanged bushing for a pallet changer’s lift-and-turn shaft, specifying CuZn25Al5Mn4Fe3 high-tensile brass. The enquiry combines cylindrical guidance with a defined flange contact face. It concerns an existing plain-bearing arrangement, separate from the pallet’s precision locating and clamping elements.

Separate the lifted, turning and seated load cases

Show when the shaft lifts clear of its seating face, when it turns, and where the pallet weight is reacted in each phase. A flange that carries axial load while seated may be unloaded during rotation; another design may rotate under that load. Those are different bearing duties even with identical outside dimensions. Include lift travel, radial force from the transfer mechanism and the contact annulus on the shaft collar.

CuZn25Al5Mn4Fe3 is the requested high-tensile or manganese brass grade; MPGZ / OFP01 describes the construction family. Graphite plugs add a specified solid-lubricant system, not an automatic operating limit. Confirm the alloy standard, plug pattern on the bore and flange, mating surfaces and commissioning lubricant. Keep C86300 as a separate unconfirmed material request rather than an equivalent purchase description.

Application boundaries to confirm

The bushing does not establish pallet repeatability or machine clamping accuracy. Check the locating cones, stops and clamp separately. Coolant and chips must be excluded from the bearing pair. A short lift followed by a loaded turn should be reviewed using the actual duty sequence, not only average speed.

Dimensions and drawing-based quotation checklist

CuZn25Al5Mn4Fe3 high-tensile brass enquiry requirements
Review item Information required
Radial guide Bore, OD, sleeve length, shaft size/finish and installed clearance.
Axial seating Flange OD/thickness, collar contact annulus, lift clearance and axial load in each phase.
Cycle sequence Lift travel, turning angle/speed, dwell, offset loading and emergency stop condition.
Material drawing Exact alloy/standard, graphite locations, surface requirements, quantity and revision.

Send a dimensioned new-part drawing with units and revision, the mating-part dimensions and requested inspection documents. A worn sample is useful supporting evidence but may not preserve the original fit.

Installation and selection checks

Check bore alignment and flange seating squareness after fitting. Verify lift clearance before turning and confirm that locating or clamping loads follow the intended load path. Protect graphite faces from chips during assembly; do not use the flange as a makeshift press reaction surface unless the tooling supports it correctly.

Frequently asked questions

Is the flange a precision pallet locator?

Only if the approved machine design gives it that role and defines its tolerances. A bearing flange alone does not replace precision locating features.

Can it replace a rolling thrust bearing?

That requires a bearing-system redesign covering friction, stiffness and lubrication; matching the envelope is insufficient.

What is needed for a repeat order?

Use the approved drawing revision, exact alloy and plug specification, quantity and any changed cycle or coolant conditions.
