Plain Bronze Flange Bushings for Screw-Conveyor Tail Shafts

Screw conveyor tail shaft bronze bushings are considered here for a lubricated, drawing-defined support at the non-drive end. A round mounting flange can locate the solid-metal sleeve on an end structure. The conveyor end bearing, shaft seal and axial restraint are separate functional requirements.

Separate shaft support, shaft sealing and thrust restraint
The shaft may pass through the trough end and a seal before reaching the bearing. End-shaft projection, runout and the mounting stack therefore affect alignment. Escaping powder or abrasive material must be controlled before it reaches the bearing. A smooth plain-metal bushing does not provide its own solid-lubricant system.
Start with the matching BONIU product construction. Send the assembly section as well as the individual bearing drawing so that the working contact, locating surfaces and installation access can be reviewed together.
Dimensions and operating data for quotation
| Review item | Required information |
|---|---|
| End assembly | Shaft diameter, end projection, trough-end thickness, seal type and bearing location. |
| Flange and fit | Bore, sleeve length, flange diameter/thickness, fixing pattern, pilot and housing tolerances. |
| Operating specification | Speed, radial load, required axial restraint, lubricant supply, conveyed material and contamination. |
| Purchase specification | Drawing revision, quantity, units, exact material or composite specification, finish, inspection-document requirements and delivery destination. |
Selection boundaries and installation
Align the flange support to the shaft axis rather than using the bolts to pull an offset bearing into line. Confirm oil or grease supply and any approved groove geometry. Check that the seal does not force the shaft off centre and that the designated thrust bearing or restraint remains effective.
Material and replacement approval
For this plain-metal construction, specify the exact bronze or brass grade and standard together with the external lubrication arrangement. CuSn12, C93200 and other regional reference grades are reviewed individually rather than treated as interchangeable. Product colour and a reused image cannot confirm material. Required documentation, dimensions and manufacturing scope are reviewed with the quotation.
Agree the material, counterface, operating clearance and acceptance criteria before approving a replacement. Include any required dimensional inspection, material documentation or sample review with the RFQ so it can be addressed in the quotation.
Purchasing questions
Is this the same as an internal hanger bearing?
No. This page concerns the external non-drive-end shaft support; a hanger position has a different support and product-exposure arrangement.
Does a flange make the component a complete thrust bearing?
No. Identify axial loads and the intended thrust restraint separately.
Can I substitute CuSn12 or C93200 from a colour match?
No. Specify the exact grade and standard for review. These designations are not treated as equivalent.
Can the original product image be used to approve this application?
No. It illustrates the bearing structure. Use the approved part and assembly drawings to confirm dimensions, material, clearance and duty.
