Copper-Plated PTFE Flanged Bushings for Tray-Denester Finger Pivots

Copper-Plated PTFE Flanged Bushings for Tray-Denester Finger Pivots

Request copper-plated SF-1-F flanged bushings for the pivoting fingers that separate nested trays. This enquiry concerns the finger linkage pin and its axial stack, rather than a tray-contact pad or suction cup. The copper-plated exterior is a surface-treatment requirement, not a solid-copper substrate.

Maintain finger side clearance through the release cycle

Show how each finger rotates away from the tray lip and how its return is controlled. Include pivot angle, cycle frequency, spring force and transient force from a sticking tray stack. Draw the flange face, adjacent spacers and shaft retention. Correct finger timing depends on the mechanism as a whole; eliminating all side movement can clamp the finger and increase drag.

For the requested steel-backed SF-1 build, identify the steel shell, porous sintered bronze interlayer and PTFE-based sliding layer separately. Confirm that build, filler formulation and copper plating in the accepted specification. The flange is an axial locating feature; any repetitive sliding thrust against its lined face requires its own load and counterface review. Copper exterior colour does not prove the internal layer formulation.

Application boundaries to confirm

State cleaning agents, moisture and any restrictions near packaging-contact surfaces. No food-contact, hygienic-design or washdown certification is claimed. Where trays rub the bearing location or fragments enter the joint, provide shields and clearances. Plating alone is not a sealed corrosion barrier for every exposed edge.

Dimensions and drawing-based quotation checklist

copper-plated SF-1-F metal-polymer PTFE composite enquiry requirements
Review item Information required
Finger pivot Pin size, sleeve bore/OD/length, flange OD/thickness and root radius.
Side stack Finger width, fork gap, spacers, rubbing face and required axial clearance.
Materials Requested backing/interlayer/PTFE stack, copper plating and any substance restrictions.
Cycle and order Tray release force, spring torque, cleaning media, quantity, revision and inspection needs.

Send a dimensioned new-part drawing with units and revision, the mating-part dimensions and requested inspection documents. A worn sample is useful supporting evidence but may not preserve the original fit.

Installation and selection checks

Protect the flange bend and lining during pressing. Check the housing corner against the flange-root geometry. With retainers fully secured, verify free finger return and side clearance. Cycle the mechanism under its maintenance procedure before reintroducing trays; investigate collisions or timing errors rather than relying on a lower-friction sleeve to mask them.

Frequently asked questions

Does copper plating mean a bronze-backed sleeve?

No. Exterior copper plating and the backing material are separate specification items.

Does the flange set finger timing?

It locates the pivot stack; cams, links, stops and drive timing still determine motion.

Is this certified for food-contact packaging?

No such certification is stated. Provide the actual contact and compliance requirements for separate review.
