Graphite Bushings for Stamping-Die Stripper Plates

Stripper plates move relative to the die assembly and require their own guide and retention arrangement. H-flange graphite bushings can be reviewed where side clearance is limited near a tool feature. This is an application enquiry for MPITZ/OFR12-style geometry, distinct from a stamping-die heel wear plate.

Maintain stripper-plate guidance during punch withdrawal
The critical conditions include guide engagement during opening and withdrawal, non-uniform stripping forces and debris around the pin. A bushing should not be selected only from press tonnage: the actual lateral reaction at each guide and the mounting arrangement are needed.
Start with the matching BONIU product construction. Send the assembly section as well as the individual bearing drawing so that the working contact, locating surfaces and installation access can be reviewed together.
Dimensions and operating data for quotation
| Review item | Required information |
|---|---|
| Pin and plate | Guide-pin diameter, plate thickness, guide spacing and engagement throughout working travel. |
| Flange envelope | Across-flat dimension, collar fit, pocket depth, hole pattern and the installed orientation. |
| Stripper duty | Stripping-force distribution, lateral reactions, return method, cycle frequency and debris. |
| Purchase specification | Drawing revision, quantity, units, exact material or composite specification, finish, inspection-document requirements and delivery destination. |
Selection boundaries and installation
Seat the locating surfaces without drawing a mismatched collar into place with the screws. Check coaxiality and plate movement before the tooling enters production. Provide chip exclusion or cleaning access appropriate to the die. Pin material, surface finish and clearance must match the approved bearing design.
Material and replacement approval
For copper-alloy parts, state the exact standard and grade required by the design. JDB/500# and geometry codes do not establish chemical composition. Do not treat different national alloy designations as interchangeable without checking their specifications. Product colour and a reused image cannot confirm material. Required documentation, dimensions and manufacturing scope are reviewed with the quotation.
The application description is a design-review starting point. No stock availability, service-life guarantee, machine approval, universal load limit or test result is claimed. Contact pressure, motion, temperature, counterface condition and the assembled load path must be checked for the chosen specification.
Purchasing questions
Does press capacity determine the bushing load?
No. The force transmitted to the particular guide depends on the tooling geometry and stripping behaviour.
Is this the same as a heel-guide plate?
No. This page concerns cylindrical pin guidance in the moving stripper plate. Heel plates use planar sliding contacts.
Can the H-flange flats locate against the tool pocket?
Only if the drawing defines that contact and its tolerances; clearance flats alone do not define a locating system.
Can the original product image be used to approve this application?
No. It illustrates the bearing structure. Use the approved part and assembly drawings to confirm dimensions, material, clearance and duty.
