CuSn12 Oil-Grooved Bushings for Level-Wind Traverse Rockers

CuSn12 Oil-Grooved Bushings for Level-Wind Traverse Rockers

Request a CuSn12 oil-grooved sleeve for the rocker linkage driving a level-wind traverse. The defined component is the oscillating rocker pin bearing, separate from the rope drum, traverse screw nut or rotating guide roller. Send the mechanism drawing so reversal and lubricant delivery can be reviewed together.

Trace lubrication through each traverse reversal

The rocker can change load direction when the guide reverses near a reel edge. Supply the linkage geometry, rope side force, oscillation angle and reversal frequency. Identify which member turns around the pin and where the feed passage enters. An internal spiral groove is one available geometry reference; its handedness and endpoints must suit this mechanism rather than a continuously rotating journal.

CuSn12 is a tin-bronze requirement. Define the complete alloy designation, casting route and product standard before approving the order. A dense grooved sleeve is different from an oil-impregnated porous bearing and from a graphite-plugged sleeve. State whether oil or grease is supplied and how replenishment reaches the loaded region during short motion. Do not assume equivalence with C90700 or ZCuSn10P1.

Application boundaries to confirm

Include outdoor water, dirt and lubricant leakage constraints. This quotation does not establish rope-handling capacity or suitability for submerged or marine service. If abrasive particles enter the pivot, changing the alloy or enlarging grooves is not a substitute for sealing and maintenance.

Dimensions and drawing-based quotation checklist

CuSn12 tin bronze enquiry requirements
Review item Information required
Sleeve drawing Bore, OD, length, pin dimensions, edge relief and retention.
Groove and feed Profile, depth, pitch, hand, feed-hole coordinates and end positions.
Traverse duty Reversal force, angular stroke, frequency, dwell and bearing spacing.
Order requirements CuSn12 standard/condition, lubricant, pin finish, quantity and revision.

Send a dimensioned new-part drawing with units and revision, the mating-part dimensions and requested inspection documents. A worn sample is useful supporting evidence but may not preserve the original fit.

Installation and selection checks

Inspect the rocker pin for taper and scoring. Align the sleeve feed with the housing passage and check installed clearance after fitting. Move the linkage through both reversals without load under the machine’s maintenance procedure. Confirm lubricant delivery and that pin retainers do not clamp the moving rocker.

Frequently asked questions

Is the visible helix a guaranteed oil pump?

No. Flow depends on the complete groove, feed and end conditions as well as motion.

Can a porous sintered sleeve be replaced directly?

Only after reviewing lubrication, clearance and bearing architecture. Dense cast bronze does not retain oil in the same way.

Can the old worn bore define the new sleeve?

Use new-part dimensions and inspect the pin and housing; wear measurements are supporting evidence, not the design alone.
