ZCuSn10P1 Flanged Bushings for Briquette-Press Feed-Shoe Rockers

ZCuSn10P1 Flanged Bushings for Briquette-Press Feed-Shoe Rockers

For a briquette press feed shoe driven by a rocking linkage, request a ZCuSn10P1 flanged pivot bushing to the approved assembly drawing. The sleeve guides the rocker pin while the flange provides the specified side face. This enquiry concerns the feed mechanism, not the press’s main compression bearings.

Account for feed resistance without using the flange as a stop

Provide the shoe stroke, linkage geometry, normal material resistance and any jam load defined by the machine designer. Identify the hard stops and overload protection. A bushing flange must not accidentally become the stop that absorbs drive impacts. Show the rocker fork gap and whether side loading acts on one flange face or on a separate washer.

Specify ZCuSn10P1 and the casting standard in full, retaining the P designation. The plain bronze construction requires an agreed lubricant route. If a grease hole or groove is needed, add it to the drawing; the smooth-bore product photograph does not imply those features are included. Different tin bronzes should be treated as separately approved materials rather than quoted under an assumed foreign equivalent.

Application boundaries to confirm

Briquetting powders can enter an exposed pivot and mix with grease. Supply the powder type, abrasiveness, temperature and seal arrangement. No dust-explosion, fire or process-safety approval is implied by the bearing material. Review feed-shoe guides and linkage alignment if the old flange shows one-sided wear.

Review item Information required
Flanged sleeve Bore/OD/length, flange OD/thickness and root relief.
Linkage stack Fork gap, pin shoulders, separate thrust parts and required axial clearance.
Feed service Stroke, reversal rate, resistance, defined jam case and stop locations.
Supply drawing ZCuSn10P1 standard, grease route, seals, quantity, revision and inspection needs.

Send a dimensioned new-part drawing with units and revision, the mating-part dimensions and requested inspection documents. A worn sample is useful supporting evidence but may not preserve the original fit.

Installation and selection checks

Clean the housing and pin, then inspect for powder scoring and distorted bosses. Fit with supported tooling and measure the installed bore. Assemble the rocker stack at the specified side clearance. Verify the shoe reaches its intended stops without forcing the flange against a bracket and establish lubrication before powered operation.

Frequently asked questions

Can the flange absorb a jam impact?

Only if the approved design explicitly accounts for that load. The overload and stop system must be identified separately.

Are grease holes included automatically?

No. Show their positions and connections on the accepted drawing.

Can ZCuSn10Pb1 be substituted for this callout?

Do not change P to Pb. Ask for exact grade clarification and an approved material specification.
