H59 Mounting-Flange Bushings for Woodworking Fence Guide Rods

H59 Mounting-Flange Bushings for Woodworking Fence Guide Rods

Request a drawing-based H59 brass mounting-flange sleeve for an adjustable woodworking fence guide rod. The smooth bore guides translation while the flange fixes the sleeve to the carriage or machine bracket. This is not a lead-screw nut, cutter spindle bearing or claim that a fence achieves a particular cutting accuracy.

Specify the reference rod and the follower rod roles

A fence carriage may run on two rods, but treating both as perfectly constrained references can cause binding when their axes are not parallel. Provide rod spacing, guide length, travel and the permitted mounting adjustment. Include the lateral cutting reaction transferred to the fence and the separate locking arrangement; a moving sleeve should not be expected to hold the fence by friction alone.

H59 is a brass request with a defined standard and material condition, not a high-tensile manganese brass. Review its use for the actual guide duty rather than borrowing ratings from graphite-plugged JDB products. The smooth bore needs an agreed lubrication approach compatible with dust control. A mounting-hole pattern is a structural interface and must be dimensioned independently of the running fit.

Application boundaries to confirm

Sawdust protection and rod wiping must be provided in the machine design. Lubricant that collects dust may change the maintenance requirement. Do not replace preloaded rolling guides solely because their bore and outer envelope appear similar, or use this sleeve as the safety lock for the fence.

Dimensions and drawing-based quotation checklist

H59 brass replacement enquiry
Review item Information required
Rod guidance Rod diameter/finish, bore clearance after fitting, sleeve length, spacing and full travel.
Flange mounting Flange profile, thickness, bolt circle, recessed holes, adjustment slots if required and datum face.
Duty and protection Fence reaction, locking sequence, dust exposure, wiping and lubricant plan.
Order requirements H59 standard/condition, new-part drawing, quantity, revision and dimensional acceptance criteria.

Identify metric or inch units and distinguish worn sample measurements from intended new-part dimensions. Include the mating-part drawing and requested material or dimensional documents; their scope and availability are confirmed with the quotation.

Installation and selection checks

Align the reference guide first, then set the second position by the approved assembly method. Tighten flange screws in sequence without distorting the bore. Confirm free travel before adjusting the fence lock and verify its position under the specified load.

Frequently asked questions

Is the bore threaded for a lead screw?

No. This enquiry is for smooth guide-rod support. A screw nut needs a separate thread and backlash specification.

Does H59 mean maintenance-free?

No. H59 identifies a brass material, not a solid-lubricant or oil-impregnated system.

Can the screw holes be moved?

Send the revised flange drawing, including edge distance and remaining wall thickness, for manufacturing review.

Request a drawing-based replacement quotation

Send the drawing and duty to BONIU, identifying H59 brass, quantity and revision. Material route, fit, manufacturing feasibility and inspection scope are reviewed before the quotation is confirmed.
